The Century Sprint: 100 Days to August 3rd
We often treat growth like a destination, but as I’ve shared here before, it’s really about the process. With 100 days to go until my birthday on August 3rd, I’m launching what I’m calling the Century Sprint.
Lately, the process has required a heavy dose of patience. I am currently coming off some medical treatment, and my body is in a true recovery phase. Part of my Living Process is embracing the Stoic practice of Amor Fati—loving my fate, even when it demands a slower pace. Between the treatment and the weight of my new 4-day hybrid workout routine, I’m feeling a level of soreness that is telling me to listen, back off, and prioritize healing. This isn’t a detour; it is the process in action. It’s about responding to the body’s signals with the wisdom to adapt.
Mile 1: Days 100–76 | Healing as a Living Process
The Focus: Recovery and Routine Stability.
Before I can build, I have to mend. This first block is about honoring my recovery from recent medical treatments and recognizing that healing is its own form of progress. I’ll be dialing in the yoga and meditation, while leaning on the rowing machine for low-impact, rhythmic movement. It allows me to keep the blood flowing and maintain my discipline without overtaxing my joints while I recover. The goal is to move through this healing phase with patience, so I can enter the next phase of the sprint fresh, not frayed.
Mile 2: Days 75–51 | The Deep Work
The Focus: Python & Automation.
With the physical foundation set, I’ll be shifting more mental energy toward my goal of Python mastery. This is about logic, code, and using automation to optimize the digital side of my living process. It’s the mental heavy lifting of the sprint.
Mile 3: Days 50–26 | Growth & Greenery
The Focus: Hydroponics Mastery.
As the birthday approaches, the focus turns to the tangible. I’ll be leaning into my hydroponics systems—nurturing growth that I can see and measure in my own home. There is a specific kind of peace in watching something grow through careful attention and the right environment.
Mile 4: Days 25–1 | The Unplugged Finalé
The Focus: Digital Detox & Reflection.
The final push. I’ll be preparing to physically disconnect my devices and step into my next year fully present. This is the culmination of the foundational well-being I’ve been working toward all year—closing the door on the digital noise to hear my own thoughts more clearly.
The Daily Anchors
Through all 100 days, the “non-negotiables” remain:
- Daily Movement: Walking 15–60 minutes and daily meditation.
- The Hybrid Schedule: Balancing strength, rowing, and yoga.
- Vegan Living: Fueling the process with intention.
The sprint officially starts on April 25th. I’m not racing to a finish line; I’m just making sure every step toward August 3rd is taken with purpose.
