The Art of the Clean Slate

06/21/2026

Sometimes, growth isn’t about adding more—it’s about stripping away what no longer serves the purpose.

As I continue to make progress through my Century Sprint, I realized that my mental and daily spaces were becoming cluttered with tasks that were no longer aligned with my foundational goals. Today, I decided to embrace a “Clean Slate” to better nurture my well-being.

This wasn’t about quitting or avoiding work; it was about radical simplification. I archived projects that were stalling my progress and refined my daily routines to ensure my energy is directed toward what truly matters: my health, my mindfulness, and the life I’m building here in the Beaches.
It’s in the quiet of a morning walk along the boardwalk, feeling the air shift and watching the lake, where I realize that simplicity is the most honest work I can do. I am deeply aware that my time here is finite—I know I am dying—and that awareness acts as a compass. I’ll be honest: there are moments when I am genuinely worried and scared about what lies beyond this life, and the uncertainty of leaving this life creates a quiet restlessness in my mind.

Yet, beneath that worry, I hold a steady, quiet faith in God—a belief that my own personal experiences have taught me, and one that grounds me and allows me to let that unknown exist without needing to solve it.
Because of this, I want my remaining days to be defined not by the volume of what I achieve, but by the quality of the presence I bring to every moment—to the people I love and the peace I cultivate within.

Yet, even with the deck cleared, I find myself feeling like something is still missing—a quiet space between the tasks where true growth happens. By creating this space, I am prioritizing my mindset—focusing on clarity, peace, and the present moment.

A clean slate allows you to see the path clearly again, making more room for the things that bring genuine joy and health. This week, my practice is simple: one intentional, tech-free sunset hour each evening to let that quiet space breathe.
What are you clearing away to make room for your own peace of mind?
