My Year of Transformation: Unplugging, Learning & Thriving

My Year of Transformation: Unplugging, Learning & Thriving

Starting on my birthday, August 3rd, 2025, I’m committing to a year-long journey focused on growth, well-being, and intentional living. This plan isn’t just a list of tasks; it’s a structured, sequential path designed to foster holistic development and a deeper connection with my life processes. It will unfold in dedicated 3-month phases, all while maintaining my core wellness practices consistently throughout the entire year.

Continuous Year-Round Focus: My Wellness Foundation

My physical and mental well-being will be a steady anchor throughout this entire year-long transformation. Regardless of the learning phase I’m in, these practices will remain consistent:

  • Strength Training: Three sessions each week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). My focus will primarily be on using my TRX system, complemented by lighter use of my kettlebells (25 lb & 15 lb) and dumbbells (15 lb each). Each session will include a warm-up, dedicated lower body/core and upper body exercises, and a cool-down.
  • Yoga: Three sessions per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays), following beginner-friendly content from Yoga With Adriene.
  • Meditation: A basic mindfulness practice, performed daily.
  • Walking: Most days, I’ll take a 15-20 minute walk at an easy pace.
  • I’ll also use my rowing machine for additional cardiovascular exercise whenever I feel inclined.
  • Swimming: I will incorporate swimming twice a week into my exercise program.
  • Sundays are designated as my rest days, crucial for recovery and reflection.

Phase 1: 3-Month “Unplug & Thrive” (August 3rd, 2025 – November 2nd, 2025)

This foundational phase is all about reconnecting with myself by significantly reducing digital noise and distractions. It’s about intentional living from the start.

  • Digital Disconnection: I will remove all social media apps from my phone. I’ll also disconnect from general electronic devices like my TV, using my computer only when absolutely necessary for specific tasks. My phone use will be managed by turning off non-essential notifications, organizing my home screen for simplicity, and setting clear phone-free times and zones.
  • Website Engagement: I will continue to post to my website, www.livingprocess.ca/, every second week, dedicating specific time for content creation and sharing my journey.

Phase 2: 3-Month Hydroponics Study (November 3rd, 2025 – February 2nd, 2026)

After my initial digital detox, I’ll dive into a fascinating new area of practical knowledge, perfect for the colder months.

  • I will dedicate these three months to intensely studying Hydroponics, learning the principles and practices of growing plants efficiently without soil.

Phase 3: 3-Month Python Learning (February 3rd, 2026 – May 2nd, 2026)

Building on my new practical knowledge, I’ll then tackle a new intellectual challenge.

  • I will focus these three months on learning Python, developing fundamental programming skills that can open up many new possibilities for problem-solving and automation my life and Hydroponics.

Phase 4: 3-Month Sustainable & Minimalist Living Project (May 3rd, 2026 – August 2nd, 2026)

I’ll conclude this year of transformation by putting principles of sustainability and simplicity directly into practice.

  • Focus: This phase is about applying a minimalist approach, embracing conscious consumption, actively reducing waste, and deepening my appreciation for simple, intentional living.
  • Key Activities: I plan to set up a larger, practical indoor hydroponic system to begin growing my own food. I’ll also intentionally identify areas in my home to declutter and simplify, practice more intentional buying, and focus on overall waste reduction. Additionally, I’ll explore other practical skills for self-sufficiency, such as basic food preservation techniques or zero-waste cooking methods.

This structured plan is my commitment to a year of profound personal growth, continuous learning, and living more intentionally. I’m excited for what’s ahead and will be sharing my journey right here on My Living Process!
