For the past few weeks I’ve been dealing with some health issues. Nothing new, but always a joy (not).
But things like this happen to everyone. We have our bad days or weeks, some unexpected bills pop up, the car or television breaks down. Whatever happens, happens, and most times when we’re not expecting it.
But it’s okay. You’re still here. You’re reading this.
We always live another day. And if we don’t, that is okay too. I truly believe this. I will explain why in my next post.
There are some quotes I return to again and again to help me to stay grounded when things like this happen. Here are just a few of my favourites.
“Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
— Joshua J. Marine
“We are more often frightened than hurt; and we suffer more in imagination than reality.”
— Seneca
“You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.”
—- Marcus Aurelius
“Always remember the proverb: ‘This too shall pass.’ Your negative feelings won’t last forever, there’s a light at the end of every tunnel. It might not happen today or tomorrow, but you’ll feel better eventually.”
— Paulo Coelho
I especially love that last one.
There are quite a few more but in addition to the Coelho quote, there’s one I love by one of my heroes, Bruce Lee. I actually have a picture of it in my home that I read every day. Can you guess it? Leave a comment down below.
